Winners at the 2012 Ivor Novello Awards

The 57th Ivor Novello Awards took place yesterday, Thursday 17 May 2012, at the Grosvenor House, London. Album of the Year was awarded to PJ Harvey’s Let England Shake at the ceremony in Central London. The other nominees in this prestigious category were Adele (21) and Kate Bush (50 Words For Snow).

Lana Del Rey scooped Best Contemporary Song for Video Games (featured above) and Adele taking home two awards, Most Performed Work for Rolling In The Deep and Song Writer of The Year. Mark Knopfler was awarded a Lifetime Achievement award and Andrew Lloyd Webber received the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors ( BASCA) Fellowship.

Presented and judged by the music writing community, the Ivor Novello Awards celebrate, honour and reward excellence in British music and writing.
