Irish singers Glen Hansard and Mark Geary (and friends!) are selling themselves on Ebay. The brave musicians are auctioning a private house concert performance in order to raise money for the devastated Caribbean country of Haiti. All proceeds (minus ebay and paypal fees) to Medecins sans Frontieres for Haiti.
Speaking exclusively with meg.ie Mark Geary had this to say about how himself and Glen are doing their bit for Haiti “so – really it started because I just couldn’t look at the telly anymore-Glen and I were in London, I said – just smile and nod and let me figure something to do here.
I have played some house concerts in America where they are quite popular.
and I thought we could do something a little different – show up in someone’s house- the highest bidder- tea and cakes and a singsong”
So here’s your unique chance to have Glen, Mark and friends come to your house and play a private concert for you and all your friends. This gig will take place on Fri Jan 29th only and the house must be within 2 hours driving distance of Dublin city centre – which takes in all of County Meath (on a good traffic day!).
We all know the absolute devastation that has occurred in Haiti, so as the saying goes dig deep my friends.
