We Are The Ocean| Go Now and Live

By Fiona Donnellan.

When you read the bio of this post hardcore band it would be very easy to lump them in with every other band of this genre, all the clichés are there; they’ve played with Lost Prophets, The Blackout, Fightstar and Funeral for a Friend, they’ve played all the usual acne attacked adolescent festivals and their lyrics are emotionally charged.

So what differentiates them from all the rest? Well, nothing really and that’s the problem with this album.

But that’s not to say that they aren’t fulfilling the criteria of every other successful emo esque band out there, every angst starved teenager will love these guys.

With titles like, the far from impacting first track, Before I Die and Trials and Tribulations, the big fringed youth of the nation will lap this album up. Not to mention the hit home lyrical slogans like “I did it my own way” “shut up just listen to what I have to say, I’ve been dying inside just dying to relate, sick of being the only one.” Rad!

The English 5 piece, have built up quite a fanbase since they began touring in 2007. The two lead vocals/screams being provided by Dan Brown and Liam Cromsby who admittedly are quite polished in their performance. Most note worthy track from this, their second studio album, would be Overtime is a Crime.

The album is out April 25th, but you can stream tracks form their MySpace page.
