Twlight New Moon

twilight-new-moonThe story takes us deeper into the Cullen family and the conflict of (apparent) good vs (apparent) evil. The CGI is seriously impressive, the swift movements of the vampires, the wolves, the fight scenes a la The Matrix… it would give it away if I said anymore! In saying all that the film had a whiff of cheese, probably to increase its appeal to the potential merchandise-buying teenage audience. There’s lots of dramatic slow motion walking towards the camera with windswept (yet perfect) hair and dazzling eyes. A lot of any-excuse-to-show-the-ripped-body scenes too, much to the delight of the teenage guests at the screening, and many of the older ones. But you’d have to be made of stone not to wish for a happy ending for the young star-crossed lovers Edward and Belle.

I must confess I haven’t seen Twilight and sure while I’m on a role of confession I had no interest in seeing it either. So needless to say I was dubious about seeing Twilight New Moon, although confident that I would pick up the jist of the story line with relative ease. Wrong and wrong. I’m now looking forward to seeing the first one to help make sense of the sequel and dare I say it, anticipating the third installment.
