A Mickey Rourke gives the performance of a life time, he’s flawless. The movie swings between sorrow and hope, in other words it packs quite the emotional punch! Rourke plays ‘The Ram’ a once respected wrestler whose career has taken a slide, his daughter doesn’t speak to him and he’s in love with a stripper who won’t get involved with clients, the ultimate lovable loser type. It’s a serious come back role for Rourke, he plays the underdog so well, maybe because his own comeback was tied up in the movie too. This is one of the best films I have seen in a long time. If you haven’t seen it, sort it out. TK
