Massive Attack
Anyone remember the Adidas ad that used ‘Angel’? No? It was savage. Sunday evening, presumably main stage, a lot of people dead on their feet, should still be good though.

The National
Great, underrated band. Their new album did amazingly well in the US, expect to hear a lot of their tunes on various TV shows over the next year or so. Although probably not on Glee.

Mumford & Sons
It’s not that they’re a bad band, just that you hate the people who like them right? They are the 2010′s best band for people who don’t like music, but on a Sunday when your legs are weary maybe a big crowd friendly act is just what’s needed.

Fever Ray
The Swedish wan from The Knife goes solo and wisely doesn’t go by her actual name of Karin Dreijer Andersson. She puts on quite a theatrical show amidst the Bjork-like shreiking.

Friendly Fires
I’ve a friend who’s girlfriend always talks to me about this lot whenever she sees me. I think it’s her way of trying to get to know me, cause she knows I’m into music, which would be kind of sweet if she wasn’t such an auld wasp.

Fat Freddys Drop
The ‘other’ New Zealand band known outside New Zealand after Flight of the Conchords. Less whimsical folk/hip-hop, more dub, reggae, soul, jazz, rhythm and blues, and techno

Two Door Cinema Club
Rightly tipped at the start of the year for big things by pretty much everyone. Could be a packed triumphant tent gig or a underwhelming main stage appearance depending on the schedule

UNKLE
Great DJ collective-type thing, had a new album out this year. Great dance music for people who aren’t that into dance.
Fight Like Apes
Ah jesus I don’t know. One of the most hyped Irish bands in recent memory, and bless them they are different from anything else out there…they’ll have a big crowd anyway.

Laurent Garnier (live)
LIVE! As opposed to every other act at EP who are pre-recorded? French techno DJ not affiliated in any way with Laboratoire Garnier.
Wolf Parade
Hopefully there won’t be any repeat of last years debacle when one of the wolves escaped it’s minder and jumped into the parade-watching crow. Actually why would the organizers press ahead with a dangerous animal parade again after that?
The Horrors
Of all that recent bands that have gotten huge hype on their debut release by the NME brigade The Horrors are one of the few who have since exceeded expectations. One of the best live acts around at the moment
The Fall
Professional misery-guts Mark E Smith is still dragging his post-punk sounds around the world. I’ll be honest, I’m scared of the man. I mean, look at him

Dennis Alcapone & the Dubcats
Legendary reggae DJ. NOT AFFILIATED WITH BOB MARLEY.

New Pornographers
Another cool Canadian band. How many cool Canadians have you ever met? I’ve met none..ever. Yet they have all these cool bands, strange.
Bonobo (live)
Some welcome chillout from London DJ/Producer. Will be a lifesaver for those who are starting to worry that the sky is falling in by Sunday afternoon.
Landlovers
Irish eclectic pop outfit. That sounds shit, but they aren’t, honest.
The Big Pink
Don’t call them ‘shoegaze’ (see meg interview) some will only know the Dominos song from t’ Xbox ads, worth staying for the whole set though, they’re great live.
Low Anthem
Beautiful low-fi songs can sometimes be a little same-y but this lot throw in enough to suprise, youtube their Charlie Dawson video there, go on, it’s great, will bring a tear to your ear. (read interview)
Jerry Fish & the Mudbug Club
My friend Mags came onto Jerry Fish when he played LeCheile. Round two on Sunday at EP…
Liquid Liquid
Post-punk/post-disco says their wikipedia which shows how hard these guys are to pin-down. I don’t want to be an asshole by describing them as an ‘X’ meets ‘Y’ hybrid, so I won’t.
808 State
One of the earliest purveyors of House in the UK back in the ’80′s. Ah Jesus it’s Sunday I don’t know if I’ll have the energy for old-school House.
Archie Bronson Outfit
Underrated UK indie trio signed with Domino records. Of course all that will change in Stradbally… probably not.
Mr Scruff
British trip-hop DJ, probably as well known for the cute Mr Scruff drawings that accompany his work as he is for his music…at least by me.
Field Music
Appropriately named amalgamation of former Futureheads and Maximo Park members, less than the some of their fairly crap parts.
Cymande II
Partly reformed ’70′s funk-reggae-soul band. You’re probably feeling awful at this stage on a Sunday, maybe funk is just what you need.
The Tallest Man on Earth
Peter Crouch brings his one-man Sweedish folk show to County Laois.
Beardyman
A Beatboxer, and one of the finest around by all accounts. Genuinely interested in seeing that, just to see what this ‘beatboxing’ that the kids talk about is actually like.
The Alarm
Kind of a less successful Welsh U2 from the ’80′s. Retain a loyal following so expect plenty of middle aged guys in black stone-washed jeans in the crowd.
Juan Atkins
American producer widely-credited with inventing Techno. What a rainy Tuesday afternoon that must have been.
Stornoway
Young Oxford band who released their debut this year. They play a double bass, that’s all I’ve got, sorry.
Dam Funk
Modern American Funk. Like the remake of Shaft only in musical form.
James V McMorrow
Another Irish singer-songwriter, brings a tropical feel to his music though. Like a HB Calypso.
Mixhell
Could be amazing Husband/Wife Brazilian remix combo. Yer man used be the drummer in Septultura. Remember ‘ROOTS BLOODY ROOTS URRRRGGGGGHHH’. This years 2manydjs. I may have said that about another act already…

Neon Indian

Chillwave (yeah, I know) band from Texas. Being tipped by all the right people across the pond so could be worth checking out. Unless the phrase ‘being tipped by all the right people’ makes you want to vomit.

Dublin Gospel Choir

What could be better for the nervous alcohol-damaged soul on EP Sunday than a gospel choir doing some well chosen covers. On Saturday when I go overboard I’m going to convince myself that this lot will be the cure the following day.

Messiah J & the Expert

Ireland’s best hip-hop act. At which point you cry ‘But they’re Ireland’s only hip-hop act’ which isn’t actually true but still…
O Emperor

An Irish Flaming Lips? You’d take that wouldn’t you?

Jackbeats

London DJ duo, the two lads look like they’d fit in well on Eastenders.

The Riptide Movement

Irish band making waves..ah come on I’ve done a few lines from every act and that was my first pun…OK I’m sorry. (read interview)
