Summer at the cinema

Summer is the time for all the great blockbusters of the year to battle it out for our hard earned cash. 2010 brings us some action packed hopefuls such as Iron Man 2, Prince of Persia, Knight and Day, Robin Hood starring Russel Crowe, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice and The A-Team.  Some of our favorite characters return in new installments such as kiddie hits Toy Story 3 and Shrek Forever After. Popular-with-women-of-all-ages vampire film series Twilight return with their latest 2 hour slow motion montage of Edwards glistening locks and smokey eyes in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and for some unknown reason makers of Sex and the City have made a second big screen tale of Carrie and the girls.
Controversial love them or hate them 3D films are taking up just as much of the silver screen as their 2D counterparts. This summer sees more releases in 3D (where available) than any previous season, including: Toy Story 3, Shrek Forever After, Space Chimps 2, Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore, Step Up 3D, Piranha 3D, Streetdance and a reissue of Disney classic Beauty and the Beast.

Here’s a preview of some of this Summer’s offerings:
