The Spirit of Folk Festival is a 2-day family friendly festival run on the grounds of Dunderry Park, Co. Meath from the 21-23 September 2012.
This unique event is a chance to immerse yourself in Ireland’s rich folk heritage and experience the magic of the “Spirit of Folk”. It is a musical festival with a difference, not only showcasing the best folk, trad and bluegrass in Ireland and the UK but by being a completely immersive experience by hosting storytelling, archery, falconry, historical re-enactments, experimental archeology all to the background of an awesome party.
Last year saw folk legends Gay Woods (steeleye span) and Dr. Strangely Strange to up and comers Lisa O’Neill, Rhob Cunningham and The Hot Sprockets take to the main stage and woo our friendly festival crowd. Also, there’s a healing area where you can rest your feet, have a massage, take a workshop, join in a drumming circle or prance around like a pooka.
If you’d like to get involved with the 2012 festival, you can apply here.
Early birds on sale from the 29th March starting at €50 for the weekend plus camping.
