Well the show is well and truly on the road. The stage is taking shape, Lord Henry is getting excited and the clouds even seem to be clearing. Slane Castle 2009 presents The Blizzards, Glasvegas, Kasabien, The Prodigy and headliners Oasis. Lord Henry expressed his thanks to the people of Slane and urged concert goers to express their thanks with respect for the village and it’s residents. He spoke of his pride at having the Gallagher brothers playing saying “The combination of The Prodigy and Oasis playing together here in the year 2009 is hard to beat and I’d like to make Noel and Liam Gallagher honorary citizens of Slane”.
Lord Henry also reiterated the important warnings of The Gardai regarding the River Boyne saying it’s very beautiful to look at but please do not get in. The River Boyne can be unpredictable with strong currents and Gardai have issued warnings to concert goers to stay well away from the river. They also pointed out that there will be absolutely no camping in the vicinity of Slane village. Other restrictions include no alcohol can be brought into the Castle grounds and no umbrellas.
