Seasick Steve announces Irish dates

With his sold-out UK tour in full swing, and summer festival dates on the horizon, Seasick Steve announces the release of new single ‘Roy’s Gang’, out May 25.

The second single, ‘Roy’s Gang’ is a grooving, energetic, foot stomping track, featuring the rasping sound of a one-string washboard – the latest addition to his armoury of homemade instruments. The video sees Steve, and drummer Dan Magnusson, in puppet form for a no-holds-barred performance (courtesy of master puppeteer Ricky Syers).

Since appearing on Jools Holland’s Hootenanny New Year’s Eve 2006, Seasick Steve’s career both on record and onstage has gone from strength to strength. In the process he has established himself as one of the best live acts in music today.

Seasick Steve plays:

June
Sat 20 – Bundoran, Sea Sessions
Wed 24 – Dublin, Royal Hospital Kilmainham (with Counting Crows)

Tickets available through Ticketmaster.ie

Produced and written by Seasick Steve and recorded in his front room at the little farm where he lives, ‘Sonic Soul Surfer’ is his seventh studio record and most ambitious work yet. Along with longtime drummer Dan Magnusson, the album also features Luther Dickinson (Mississippi All Stars) playing slide guitar on two tracks, Georgina Leach on fiddle and Ben Miller playing jaw harp on ‘Summertime Boy’.
