
Ziggy Marley, BellX1, The Delays, The Go! Team and Grandmaster Flash to headline Sea Sessions Surf Music Festival, Bundoran this June 24-26. Sea Sessions havs also announced a first-of-its-kind ASP Speciality Surfing Event in Ireland.
Fresh from his North American tour, Ziggy Marley will share his musical love and samples from his fourth solo release “Wild and Free” with festival goers at this year’s event before embarking on a European Tour. Marley’s career began as a family affair 30 years ago and he brings his live show fueled by a fragrant blend of roots reggae, African percussion and other elements to the shores of Bundoran on Sunday 26th June!
Home grown talent BellX1, multi-instrumentalist indie-sextet The Go! Team and Southampton quartet The Delays have also confirmed a live performance.
Local Irish talent will be strongly represented again this year with live performances from Roysevsn, Japanese Popstars, Fred, Brian Deady, Kanyu Tree, Ham Sandwich, Codes and O Emperor, with more announcements to come.
Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and founding father of Hip-Hop, DJ Grandmaster Flash will hit the decks and grace the main stage with crowd pleasing, hip-hopping, rock-stomping beats! BBC Radio 2 DJ Norman Jay will also light up the decks with his blend of house music, 70’s & 80s funk, soul and jazz-funk beats.
Also playing are sixty two year old Charles Bradley, Jamaica reggae legends The Skatalites, Hat n Cara and Funeral Suits with promises from organisers of more to come.

Surf history will be made in Bundoran when the Donegal festival hosts the UK and Irelands first ever Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) speciality event. Surf Expression Session has been recognised by the ASP and in association with Quiksilver will be the first-of-its-kind event to be displayed in Ireland and the UK.
The Vert Area offers a chance to check out some professional BMX, freestyle bike, skateboard and blade performers.
Those who fancy taking a time-out can wander over to the film festival area “Go Big or Go Home” extreme sports film festival . There’s also a short surf film competition aimed at budding surf movie makers within Ireland with cash prizes on offer. Check out the activities section at seasessions.com for entry guidelines.
They’ve upped the ante with the Beach Tag Rugby Tournament by adding a €500 prize for the winning team. The competition takes place on Bundoran Main beach directly in front of the festival site.
If you prefer soccer there’s also the Beach Soccer Tournament. Teams are made up of a minimum of five players and the festival is offering a prize of €500 for the winners of the tournament.
And finally there’s a Sea Sessions Ultimate Frisbee Beach Competition debut.
