Q & A with The Minutes

Dublin three-piece The Minutes have been busy on the festival circuit this summer,a great live act they’ve been steadily building a strong fanbase ahead of the release of debut album, Marcata, later this year. We had a quick catch-up with singer and guitarist Mark

So the debut album is out later this year, what can people expect from it?
Old school Rock n Roll. The type that just might leave you pregnant.

What are the touring plans once it’s released?
Anywhere and everywhere. We’ll hit Ireland a little more extensivley than we have before and then its off to the UK – France -Spain & Germany. Home for Showers & repeat.

You played Oxegen and then Indiependence festival last week, good experiences? What’s been your most enjoyable live experience so far?
Both were great shows . A little amazed at the crowd we had for the Indiependence show. pretty packed tent . Singin back for some parts too. good buzz

Festivals or sweaty clubs? What do you prefer?
Both have their charms, at festivals there’s the chance to reach out to a wider spectrum , sweaty clubs are great though.
Ok I’ll go with the clubs we’ve played manys a crackin show in some dirty sweaty kips.

The obligatory influences question: what are your main influences?
Thin Lizzy, Rolling stones , Robert Johnson , Led Zep . White Stripes // The Raconteurs et al

Who or what are you guys listening to at the moment?
New Arcade Fire Record & Nuggets compilation.
