Oscar winners 2010

Irish man Richard Baneham won the Best Visual Effects Oscar last night along with his co-workers Joe Letteri, Stephen Rosenbaum  and Andrew R. Jones, for their role in creating the blockbuster movie Avatar. Unfortunately there were no wins for Irish films on the night, but recognition came in the form of three nominations, nothing to be sneezed at either.

The Hurt Locker cleaned up on the night winning five awards, Avatar won three and Precious picked up two awards for Best Adapted Screenplay and a well deserved Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Mo’nique.
