The OFFline Film Festival takes place in various locations around Birr in Co. Offaly, returning for its second year with support from Offaly County Council. All weekend you can watch, learn about, make and talk about films. Screenings include Irish and international films including Catfish, Submarine, Inside I’m Dancing and the original Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory.
There are workshops in all aspects of filmmaking with industry professionals. The festival includes a filmmaking challenge whereby teams will make short films which will be screened in an awards ceremony on Sunday, the winner of which will receive €1,500 cash, post-production studio rental and equipment rental (entire value: €4,000) as well as a slot in the 2012 Galway Film Fleadh.
