situations vacant movieSituations Vacant, a new Irish comedy seeing the funnier side of job-hunting, opens on December 4th at selected cinemas across the country. Featuring a stellar ensemble cast of up-and-coming Irish talent, the film firmly grasps hold of the current economic climate, and wrings it tightly to squeeze some laughs from various desperate situations.

The film focuses on the life of Dave Bracken, a man who is torn between two goals to find love, or to find that elusive job. His friends are in similar situations with some faking experience to maintain jobs in various trades.

The entire cast and crew are thrilled that the film is getting the national release it deserves “we all put our heart and souls into the production, and we’re certain that the Irish public will respond to the themes, and have a fun, enjoyable cinema experience too” commented director Lisa Mulcahy.

The film’s central male leads are Diarmuid Noyes, Sam Corry and Shaun Dunne. Mary Murray also stars, hot on the heels of her award winning performance in “The Pride of Parnell Street” at the 1st Irish Theatre Festival Awards in New York. Julie O’Halloran also stars, alongside Lorna Dempsey who was recently snapped up by a Hollywood talent spotter to be part of a new female pop act.

Marking the feature directorial debut of Lisa Mulcahy, the film was written by Dubliner Steven Murray and produced by AnneMarie Naughton. A premiere of the film will be held in a Dublin city centre cinema in November.
