XBox 360 download (Remedy/Rockstar)
First released in 2001, Max Payne pioneered the use of Matrix style slow motion, bullet dodging gunplay and combined film noir ambience to creating something totally unique. Max Payne became an instant hit for Swedish developer Remedy with a sequel Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne following shortly after. With a more mature storyline and refined gunplay The Fall of Max Payne recieved similar acclaim and it seemed likely that the third installment would follow. Remedy, however, decided to focus on other projects leaving Max Payne fans in the cold. Thankfully GTA developer Rockstar have announced the ressueection of the series with a third installment expected for release in December. In the meantime the originall games have been released for download on the XBox 360’s online store. Well worth a look second time round. ED
