Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt pair up for acoustic set

Lovett_HiattFour-time Grammy Award winner Lyle Lovett and US cult singer-songwriter John Hiatt come together for two special acoustic concerts at The Waterfront Hall, Belfast on February 16th & The Olympia Theatre, Dublin on February 17th.

Lyle Lovett’s new studio album “Natural Forces” was released last October. John Hiatt’s new full length album “The Open Road” is set for release in February 2010. Lovett is one of the all-time great American singer/songwriters. Since his self-titled debut in 1986, he has created an incredible body of acclaimed work and has been the recipient of four Grammy Awards including Best Male Country Vocal Performance and Best Country Album. Following an interest from film director Robert Altman, Lyle was cast in four of his films (‘The Player’, ‘Short Cuts’, ‘Pret-a-Porter’, ‘Cookie’s Fortune’) and he scored a fifth (‘Dr. T and the Women’). And wasn’t he married to Julia Roberts at one stage? I’m totally sure that’s just how he likes to be remembered.

John Hiatt’s career has spanned more than 30 years and his songs have been covered by everyone from Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton and BB King to Iggy Pop, Three Dog Night and The Neville Brothers.

Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt will not perform as an acoustic duo – they will perform acoustic and solo, but on stage at the same time and trading songs if you will. Tickets for Dublin from €44.20 and go on sale on Thursday December 3rd 2009 at 9am.
