This month’s Q Magazine includes a list of the 100 albums of the century as nominated by a host of musicians, Authors, comedians, politicians, DJ’s and Actors. Republic of Loose’s ‘Aaagh!’ has been nominated by Author Irvine Welsh.
The Trainspotting author said – “It’s a great, fun, party album. They’re a party band – there’s loads of them onstage. It’s got one of the greatest songs of all time in ‘Comeback Girl’ and one of the most fantastically twisted love songs in ‘The Idiots’”
The Loose play their only Dublin headline show of 2009 at The Academy on Tuesday December 22nd. Tickets priced €25 including booking fee are on sale now. This will be the first time the band have played a headline show in Dublin since their renowned sold out show at the Academy last Christmas.
Loose are known for bringing very specials guest to perform with them at their Academy gigs. Special guests last year included Sinead O’Connor, Damien Dempsey, Shane MacGowan and Gavin Friday. The audience were treated to a two hour show featuring a brass and string section.
