Local farmer supports Irish flood victims

irish red_crossKind hearted local farmer William Ruiter (better known as Mr. New Barn Farm) has offered up one of his barns as a base to gather donations to help those affected by the floods in Ireland. After a phone call to the Gerry Ryan phone show this week, the Irish Red Cross have offered to transport the donations from the farm in Ashbourne to the flood victims throughout the country. They will be transporting from New Barn farm to the worst affected areas in the West throughout the weekend. (28-30 November)

Suggested items such as duvets, durable food items, spare clothes, and even household white goods are all being accepted by William. Many people have been left with nothing in their homes and many more with uninhabitable homes. Coming up to Christmas it’s an important time to show your support for the people around you and help to make their Christmas as happy, safe and warm as possible.
