Film taken from two Rolling Stones concerts during their 1972 North American tour, plus never-before seen Mick Jagger interview, will screen across Ireland for one night only.
Ladies and Gentlemen: The Rolling Stones, featuring the British rock band, was first released in 1974. It was shot in 16mm during four shows in Fort Worth and Houston, Texas, during their 1972 North American Tour in support of their album “Exile on Main Street”. It has been upgraded from 16mm film to Hi-Definition with a 5.1 audio track, in full co-operation with Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.
A monumental piece of music history, it features Stones classics including “Brown Sugar”, “Midnight Rambler”, “Tumbling Dice”, “Street Fighting Man”, “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” and more. An exclusive interview with Mick Jagger recorded in London in 2010 introduces the re-mastered digital version of what is by now a mythical concert movie of the Rolling Stones performing on one of their most legendary shows. The remastered re-issue of “Exile on Main Street” was released this year, the album this 1972 tour originally promoted features 10 new songs from the band, including alternate versions of some classics, and five of which are undoctored outtakes from the original recording sessions. The album features songs recorded between 1968 and 1972.
Irish screenings of the film will show at the Lighthouse cinema in Smithfield Dublin, Mayo Movie World in Castlebar, Movies @ Gorey, Century Cinemas in Letterkenny and more cinemas nationwide. Check your local cinema for more information.
