Iron Maiden launch European show in Ireland

From their self-titled debut via their worldwide breakthrough album “The Number of the Beast” to the most recent masterpiece, “A Matter of Life and Death,” for over the last thirty years at the forefront of Metal, Iron Maiden have influenced everyone from massive acts such as Metallica, Anthrax and Slayer to aspiring metal stars Mastodon, Bullet for My Valentine and Trivium, while selling over 80 million albums and packing out arenas and stadiums Worldwide.

Special guests are Heaven & Hell, whose journey began serendipitously in 2006, when Rhino asked the quartet to record a few new songs for The Dio Years, a collection spotlighting the Mob Rules line-up of Black Sabbath – Ronnie James Dio, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Vinny Appice. The impromptu get-together quickly proved the creative spark was still burning 14 years after the band’s last album. “Those songs came so easy that we decided we had to keep going,” Dio says. “Where it would lead was a question no one really asked at that point.”   The answer began to take shape in 2007, when the band launched a yearlong tour. Selling out concerts around the world, the trek included the band’s triumphant return to the U.S. The group convened in early 2008 at Iommi’s home studio in England to begin writing for The Devil You Know, which was released to huge acclaim in April 2009.
