Dublin Theatre Festival to show new adaptation of Swan Lake

Michael Keegan-Dolan makes a welcome return to Dublin Theatre Festival with the world premiere of Swan Lake/Loch na hEala, a magical new adaptation of the famous story ballet.

With beautiful dancing and powerful imagery, Michael Keegan Dolan’s Swan Lake is rooted in the Irish Midlands, a place where ancient mythology and the modern world collide. Performed by a world-class company of fourteen, including actor Mikel Murfi, the production is interwoven with story-telling, live music and song.

Dublin-based band Slow Moving Clouds have created an atmospheric new score for the piece that combines roots in Nordic and Irish traditional music with minimalist and experimental influences.

The creative team for this exciting production is led by director and choreographer Michael Keegan-Dolan with set design by Sabine Dargent, lighting design by Adam Silverman and costume design by Hyemi Shin.
