Dominique Davoust

Dominique DavoustThis photographic commission by Meath County Council Arts Office celebrates a visual investigation into the less apparent aspects of life in Meath, specifically focusing on Oldcastle and Ashbourne.
Photographer Dominique Davoust has explored intimate characteristics of individuals in their homes or workspaces that allow the viewer a snapshot into places and personalities otherwise unknown. These personal moments capture the elements which make each community unique while also demonstrating the similarities that are familiar to the wider community – that of living in Meath.
Over the past six months Dominique has approached Encounter Meath like a journalist, investigating communities, developing relationships and gaining trust. This exhibition of twelve portraits is a gentle glance through a window into the private and personal lives of our neighbours, families and friends.
The exhibition runs from 10 February until 10 March in the Co. Meath Arts Office, Ashbourne.
