Delorentos announce new album and Irish tour

delorentosDelorentos come storming out of the traps with a new album, You Can Make Sound, released on their own DeloRecords label through ADA Global on 9 October 2009. The band have announced a national tour to co-incide with the release.

Having already given fans of the band an early taster of the album at the beginning of the year (in the shape of a free download of the title track, “You Can Make Sound”) the first single from the album will be “Secret” and will be released on 2 October.

Delorentos’ second album follows on the heels of their 2007 Top 10 debut In Love With Detail and according to the press release “demonstrates a leap forward in the maturity of the band’s songwriting while retaining the power and accessibility of their pin-point melodies”.

It seals the band’s commitment to continue with music after a two year period of trials, tribulations and uncertainty caused them to announce (and quickly rescind) earlier in the year that the band would be breaking up. It’s good to have them back.

The band have announced the following Irish dates of the usual haunts to kick off their album campaign:

Thursday 1 October– Roisin Dubh, Galway
Saturday 10 October – The Stables, Mullingar
Thursday 15 October – The Spirit Store, Dundalk
Friday 16 October – Dolans Warehouse, Limerick
Saturday 17 October – Whelans, Dublin
Wednesday 21 October – Cyprus Avenue, Cork
Saturday 24 October – Electric Avenue, Waterford
Friday 6 November – Roisin Dubh, Galway
Friday 20 November – The Dock, Carrick-On-Shannon
