Castlepalooza with it’s 3,000 capacity will appeal to all the the people who believe that Electric Picnic “Is just too big loike, I mean it’s got no soul, do you know what I mean Lorcan? Anyway come on I want to show you this great new organic coffee shop I discovered“. Those people.
Which isn’t to say it’s a bad festival. The line-up is pretty awesome, Mercury Rev will be great on the Saturday night. There’s plenty of good up and coming Irish bands like Cast of Cheers and the 90′s cover ‘collective’ Attention Bebe put on a great great show. Plus, and this is a big plus for anyone who is still suffering post portaloo stress disorder (it’s a real thing…possibly), the castle comes fully equipped with real toilets. REAL TOILETS, can you imagine? That alone is almost enough to choose Castlepalooza over other attractions on the busy August bank holiday. Not me though, I’m going to Le Chéile, they have a real pub with real toilets.
