You have to hand the hi fives to Dimensions Festival – they rarely do things by handy halves. The festival might be just three years young, but its formula of delicious weather, wicked line-ups and wanton divilment bring a nice mixture of alumni re-visits and fresh adventure seekers.

So what is the magical pull-to-Pula ? The list includes sunshine and smiles filled Adriatic beach parties and a sunset summons to an abandoned Roman fort with a FOMO inducing line up . Or how about their opening party set in a 2000 year old Roman amphitheatre where you can dance where gladiators once marched , give Caribou and Darkside the Caesar thumbs up and take some crackin’ selfies.

Dimensions Festival playground is Fort Punta Christo in Croatia , a 19th century fortress that once guarded the bay of Pula. Nowadays it offers protection against 21st century enemies (like sleep deprivation and line up clashes ) making it the perfect playing field.

With a pick ‘n’ mix lineup of 200 artists (containing zero soft centres ) that includes: Gilles Peterson, Floating Points, Moodymann,Warpaint, Caribou, Jon Hopkins, Metro Area, Laurel Halo, Special RequestThe Internet, Ben UFO, Karizma, Nina Kraviz, Baths, Seven Davies Jr plus maaaany, many more . For five days you can choose to play naughty ….or nice.

The hi jinks will continue on the Istrian coast with nine curated sea soirées each day . The Giddy Gondolas will house boat parties hosted by heavyweights including Eglo Records, Resident Advisor, Hessle Audio and our very own Bodytonic.

So phone a friend, order your kuna and Mastercard those flights – don’t have the same tall tales as the rest of the county. Leave the Balearics to the amateurs – your summer holiday is about to get turbocharged.

And if we haven’t managed to convince you, here’s some photos you won’t be able to stop thinking about.

Dimensions Festival 2014 takes place 27 – 31 August 2014. Tickets, information and full line-up can be found at the official Dimensions Festival website.
